GERALDINE MULTI CHALLENGE

This annual event is run by the Geraldine Lions Club and Bike Geraldine. All ages and genders are catered for. The tracks are very sheltered from wind and heat and provide very pleasant surroundings in which to compete or enjoy. Proceeds from this years event will go to local charities.
RACE INFORMATION:
Location: Orari Race Course, Geraldine. Signs will be out on race day.
Cancellation: In the event of adverse weather and the event is cancelled there will be no cash refunds of entry fees, these will be transferred to the 2026 event. Notification of cancellation will be on Port FM from 7am on the day and our Facebook page.
Prizegiving/Prizes:
- Prize-giving for the Run/Walk events will be at approx 11:00am and for the MTB events it will be at approx 1:15pm.
- Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters (subject to minimum entries in each race category)
- Spot Prizes will be predrawn and available for pick up on race day
- The Major Spot Prize a bike generously donated by THE CYCLERY TIMARU, will be drawn after the final event of the day - the winner must be there to collect the prize in person or there will be a redraw.
Fees & Registration:
All entries are online only but closing date is extended until lunchtime (12.00pm) SATURDAY 22 MARCH (the day before the race) Early Bird pricing applies to entries received up to midnight 17 March and after this date will be $10 extra (U18 exempt).
Refunds: Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
EVENT OPTIONS
Mountain Bike
52kms Geraldine MTB Challenge - for competitive riders who want a longer distance which includes some hill climbing and more single tracks. This is a combination of river and farm tracks with some road riding.
32kms Intermediate Challenge - A shorter race for those who still like a good workout and a challenge. Mostly on tracks alongside the Orari River with some enjoyable single tracks as well.
18kms Recreational Fun Ride - designed for family groups and those wanting a shorter ride to enjoy. This ride still uses the single and 4WD tracks alongside the Orari River.
Run
21.8km Half Marathon - mainly off-road, a picturesque run through the river tracks for competitive and social runners. There are water stations at 6kms/10kms and 15kms.
13.8km Recreational Run - enjoy this mainly off-road challenge on the Orari River tracks amongst the trees in sheltered conditions. There is one water station at half-way point.
5.8km Fun Run/Walk - a shorter distance for those who want to enjoy the experience and have fun.

RULES and conditions
- An approved helmet must be worn throughout the events.
- Head or earphones are not permitted during the races
- The decision of the Race Director affecting all matters is final.
- Carry enough equipment to keep your bike mobile.
- Issued numbers must be visible at all times during the event.
- Normal road rules apply on public roads.
- Please respect all private property and do not litter.
- First aid, water and transport will be available on the course.
- The organisers reserve the right to reject any entry or disqualify any entrant not complying to the above conditions of entry.
- I agree and authorise Geraldine Multi Challenge to use photographs, video and film taken during the event for promotional purposes.
